Story

St Andrew's Secondary has for many years assisted the work of both The Wayside Club and Mary's Meals. The Wayside Club was established in 1932 to meet the needs of the homeless and those suffering from hardship, addiction to alcohol or gambling. It is operated by the Legion of Mary, a Catholic lay organisation and helpers from other religions and none. Our young people and staff volunteer every week to assist in the running of the club. Mary’s Meals serves nutritious school meals to children living in some of the world’s poorest countries. The promise of a good meal attracts these hungry children into the classroom, giving them the energy to learn and hope for a better future. They are already feeding more than 2.4 million children every school day. Additionally, we will also be raising money for the Catherine McEwan Foundation - this charity helps people living with Crohn's and Colitis access better treatment, better care and live better lives

To assist these charities, a group of five teachers from St Andrew's Secondary School in Glasgow: Lee Marshall, Maria Davidson, Eoin Houston, Josh Devine and Kevin Quinn, will cycle along the Camino de Santiago de Compostela in Spain - the route taken will cover 700km from Pamplona to the tomb of St James in Santiago.

Our Camino begins on 28th June and finishes on 12th July.

If you can help, we would be very grateful.

Buen Camino!!!
