Story

As our school value this half term is Endurance, we have been learning about the truly inspiring story of Rugby League players Rob Burrow and Kevin Sinfield. In 2019 Rob Burrow was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease and subsequently lost not only his rugby career, but his quality of life. His best friend and teammate Kevin Sinfield, in the years since, has been raising money for MND. Most notably, Sinfield ran seven ultra-marathons in seven days, totalling 280 miles and has repeated this feat each year since. In Class 4 we have decided to participate in our own marathon over the next five weeks by walking, jogging and running for twelve minutes every school day, totalling five hours of exercise before the Easter break. One lap of our school playground is one-hundred meters and we will be aiming for a minimum of ten laps a day. Keeping to our target, we as a class will complete a distance of at least twenty-five kilometres before the Easter holiday.
