Story
Since the decision was taken to keep the church open during the day about 18 months ago, we have received many positive comments from people about how wonderful it is to find the church open. Sometimes people need a time for prayer, a time of stillness, a sense of peace, a place to release inner thoughts and feelings. Sometimes people want to trace past family members through graves, memorial stones or to visit the place where their ancestors were married, christened or buried. Unfortunately having the church open means we have also made the building vulnerable to damage and theft so we would like to add CCTV cameras to church in an effort to discourage further incidents of damage and theft and be able to provide evidence to the police when things happen. The cost to install a system will be about £1500 and at a time when we are struggling to balance our finances we are appealing to all members of our community to donate a small amount to help us on our way. Thank you so much for any help you can give.

6 years agoThanks everybody for your donations. With what we've received through this campaign plus other donations we've hit our target, so will be able to install the CCTV system and keep the church open during the day again for visitors to enjoy the building.
