Story
On the 2nd December 2016, 158 Regiment Royal Logistic Corps intend to take on the challenge of completing the equivalent distance of 24 marathons in just 24 hours using gym equipment. With three participants running and riding at the same time, members of 158 Regiment will take it in turns on the three machines until we have reached the huge total of 1012.68Km or 629.256miles. All this to be conducted in Serpentine Green Shopping Centre.
we want to raise as much money as we can for three incredible charities who do amazing work within our community and for our brave soldiers and veterans and their families during very difficult and dark times. The people these charities support are inspiring enough but they need our support to get them the help they need.
Army Benevolent Fund -
They provide a lifetime of support to soldiers and veterans from the British Army, and their immediate families, when they are in need. "All soldiers, veterans and their immediate families should have the opportunity to avoid hardship and enjoy independence and dignity.”
Peterborough Rape Crisis Care Group -
Peterborough Rape Crisis Care Group is committed to supporting and empowering female survivors of rape and sexual abuse, regardless of race, ethnicity, sexuality, age and other discriminatory factors respecting individual lifestyles through the provision of a confidential telephone help line, a face to face support service and other appropriate support mechanisms. We are committed to raising public awareness of issues surrounding sexual violence.
HOPE into ACTION
Our dream is to change the lives of the most disadvantaged in our society by finding them homes rather than a bed for the night. We also offer them professional support, as well as linking them with local mentors who help them become positive members of society again. Our model moves away from placing tenants into state funded hostels and into good quality accommodation with links to the local community.
