Story

Steeton has such a supportive governing body. They see the strengths of school and are always looking for ways to improve outcomes for all children. Several members of the governing body have organised, 'Walk to Play' - a sponsored 37 mile walk through beautiful Yorkshire countryside on 6th July this year. We aim to involve as many people as possible - fellow walkers, spectators, supporters and donators.
We are proud of our school. It has character and history and has stood proudly in Steeton for almost 200 years. We are looking to update and enrich our outdoor areas; to inject a little love into them. But as with anything, this comes at a a cost! We are so grateful to even the smallest contribution towards our goal.
Play is so important, it develops children’s problem solving, creativity and collaborative skills and our Early Years curriculum is based around it. Play leads to adventure, stimulating ideas and fostering positive attitudes to learning in the classroom.
Last year, staff and governors ran the Bradford 10km to support our, 'Running to Read' campaign. This raised over £2,000 which went directly into classrooms in the form of beautiful new books for the children.
