Following the passing of our friend Steven Wright in 2022 we have looked at ways to keep his memory alive and to raise money for charities that meant so much to Steven and his family.

On Saturday 30th March, Some of Stevens friends will trek from Osmotherley to Roseberry Topping, a 26 mile walk across a section of the Cleveland Way

Then, on June 1st we will be walking 19 mile along the East Coast from Saltburn to Whitby, again along the Cleveland Way.

Saturday the 24th August 2024 at 2pm will be the 3rd Steven Wright Memorial Football Match, this will become an annual event to celebrate the life of the most special person all of us had the pleasure of knowing.

Two teams of family and friends of Steven will play against each other and players are spectators will be invited to make donation online. The proceeds will go to family and the Alice House Hospice, Hartlepool, who cared for Steven during his illness. Following the game everyone is invited to attend a gathering in the Seaton Carew clubhouse, where food and refreshments will be available, alongside activities for children.

We are hoping that the event will be well attended and that people will give generously to a wonderful cause that mean so much Steven’s family.

Steven was an exceptional footballer who loved nothing more than playing football with friends and family. We are certain he will looking down with pride on this event and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible. We want the event to continue the legacy of one of life’s true gentleman who meant so much to us all.
