Story
* Thank you so much to everyone who has donated, and those that have read our story in Southwark News. This trip costs over £6000 and we are so grateful for your support. Thank you!!!
We are a small one form entry primary school in Peckham. This year we we would like to take our brilliant Year 6 class to PGL Activity centre to celebrate their time at SMMS and finishing their SATS. PGL offers a range if outdoor activities including canoeing, pony trekking and high ropes.
This trip strongly associates with our responsibility to support our pupil’s wellbeing enabling all our children to achieve with a degree of challenge, building confidence and self-esteem, encouraging the perseverance that will help to build resilience as well as practical outdoor skills and life skills to take them in to secondary school and beyond.
Over 80% of our Year 6 children have free school meals. Without additional financial support, the school budget would not be able to pay for all children to attend. The activities at PGL would offer experiences that they might not receive outside of school and trip away from the school environment would give the class an opportunity to be together outside of London, focus on their wellbeing and have an experience they will never forget.
Thank you for your support!
