    Story

A collective of UK street food traders will be heading to Calais mid January 2016 to deliver direct aid to refugees in camps in Calais. We will be providing hot nourishing food and essential equipment to people in real need.

Street food traders delivering aid in January include

    - The Roadery
    - Rupert's Street
    - Streatza
    - The Bowler
    - Fleisch Mob
    - What The Dickens!
    - House of Dodo

A few of us spent time in September cooking and handing out hot food to the people in the camp. We saw with our own eyes the desperate state these people are 'living' in and feel it only right that we head back to offer what we can. As street food traders we can offer our cooking skills and hardy all weather work ethics, to make life just that little bit more bearable for these amazing people in truly horrendous conditions.

These people have been through so much already and have faced unimaginable trauma. By us showing some humanity and not just erecting fences, will go a long way to making these forgotten peoples lives just that little bit more dignified.

The money that we are raising will be spent on food, that we will cook and distribute. We will also be taking out provisions such as plastic sheeting and other building materials to help protect the refugees from the weather. As well as transport costs.

We just want to say a massive THANK YOU, to ALL of you who have helped make a difference in the camps in Calais. We returned late sunday night after a successful 4 days, feeding thousands of people suffering in truly heartbreaking conditions. Although we found that the ever changing situation within the camps a real challenge to work with, we where incredibly grateful to join forces with refugee kitchen. These amazing people are working relentlessly to provide hot food EVERY day within the camp! The infrastructure they have IS making a difference to the quality of life, by providing hot food and working alongside other organisations who are providing accommodation and warm clothing. THANK YOU again we really couldn't have done it without your amazing generosity! X
