I am frightened of needles and would never think of getting a tattoo...however I am lucky that's all I have to fear.
The children in Nyumbani Orpanage, in Kenya, are scared and bewildered having lost their families through AIDS. They are in need of a safe environment, schooling and a roof over their heads. 'Nyumbani' translated into English means 'Home' and I reckon if I raise £500 whist facing my fear the money raised will help the already established home which helps take fear out of their world.
The tattoo will be a giraffe to represent Nyumbani Scotland's logo. Although the thought makes my palms sweat I plan to get it done before Christmas.....gulp!!
Do check out the Nyumbani Scotland website where you will see the good they are doing. It is a great charity and one where all profits raised go to the children who need it most.
