We are raising money for the special care baby unit here in Torbay who looked after our daughter for 2 months when born 2 months early weighing 2lb 13oz. Without these people our daughter wouldn't be here.
All the skin to skin bonding chairs are all fundraised by staff there and are not supplied by the government.

We will be holding a huge firework display and raffle at brixham rugby club to raise funds on the day.

A little story of what we went through

Our 18 month old was born 2 months premature weighing only 2lb 13oz
She was welcomed into the world by emergency c-section and after 4 hours being seen to by the trained nurses we were allowed to see our beautiful little girl.
The first sights of seeing Sufia were very emotional seeing her in the incubator with tubes,wires canulas and seeing her on life support the nurses knew how to look after all of us mentally and physically.

3 weeks in the world she took a turn for the worse and contracted menijitus in her back and brain and again the nurses knew everything and despite the awful ordeal we were going through we still felt the support from them.
Everyday seeing baby's come and baby's going home makes you feel robbed and helpless not only was sufias life in there hands ours was too.

Whilst in there we learnt that the skin to skin chairs weren't provided by the government but was fund raised by the staff pushing each other 5 miles from Torquay to brixham to raise enough just for one chair for parents to bond with there Ill baby's
At 2 months and the 48 canulas later she was allowed home with us.
