Story
Did you know that there are over a hundred young people in Bradford who will not have a safe home or family to spend Christmas with this year? Many of these young people have grown up in the care system, others have been displaced as a result of war and most have experienced abuse or trauma throughout childhood, becoming some of society’s most vulnerable people.
Our aim has always been to bring the young people who would otherwise be alone on Christmas Day together, to celebrate with a team of volunteers whose job it is to have fun and make the day one to remember!
This will be our 5th year and we are going to hold it in person, so everyone can gather and have a fun day shared with other people. Last year the PA’s feedback said ‘Hi TCD group, just wanted to say thank you so much for today, I know my young people enjoyed it. They were so happy with their gifts and some have already text and said I have never had this many presents but the best thing they said especially the group of young mums, they now have each others numbers and want to stay in touch with each other.‘ Our supporters make this happen.
Any contribution is much appreciated, but some of the presents you would be contributing to include; cosy blankets, hot water bottles, socks, gift vouchers, mindful crafts, recipe books, gift sets and stocking fillers.
