I've raised £10000 to help support ZANE and IMIRE, Zimbabwean charities, as they struggle to keep operating during the Covid Emergency.

‘The Lockdown Challenge’.
A VIRTUAL LANDS END TO JOHN O'GROATS
938 miles or 1,515 kms
As the pandemic has made charity fundraising almost impossible, this is a brilliantly conceived idea by my great friend Jum Bagge. You may recall last year that he walked the Camino from Norfolk to Santiago de Compestela – a total of 1600 miles, to raise money for Walking4Norfolk’s fund for Young Carers.
Well this challenge, is a more modest one and is to walk/run ‘virtually’ from Lands End to John O’Groats but I have raised a team and we are rearing to go! We are calling ourselves ‘Team Chipembere’ – which means Rhino in Shona, one of the Zim dialects.
Each day our team we will record the distances we individually walk/run as part of our daily routine and our aggregate score will be submitted to Jum Bagge who will be plotting our progress relative to the other teams on a web-based map.
Each team’s daily total cannot exceed 50 miles (80 Ks) in order (a) to keep the teams more closely bunched and therefore introduce a little more competition and (b) to comply with the daily social distancing guidance.
