Thomas Michael Voss was a talented choreographer who, unfortunately, passed away at the young age of 43. He had cancer, and although the illness progressed very rapidly, it did not stop him from wanting to work on his masterpiece, Queastio, which was shown at The Place Theatre as part of Resolution 2017, the UK's biggest dance festival.
Questio is a contemporary dance piece about stereotypical masculinity, bullying, discrimination, disability, and aims at bringing up these topics focusing on the difficulties boys and men face in society. 

Most people think only women are victims of our society, but no one talks about the difficulties that the male generation also suffers from in a world that is still very behind when it comes to full acceptance of all the individuals around them. 

The company consists of 5 male dancers, one of which is a disabled guy, and 4 musicians (a Soprano, a pianist, a harpist who is 18 years old and also the composer of the music, and a violinist).

The show focuses on football fanatics and hooliganism, and their behaviours when in groups and under the influence of alcohol. It then moves onto the difficulties of disability, and rather than making this the centre piece, it puts the fully bodied dancers in the shoes of the disabled dancer, to make appreciate the difficulties of living with a disability, something we all give for granted because we all believe they just need to adapt to the 'normality'.

One of Michael's biggest dreams was to be able to show Quaestio again in London, and then take it internationally. The night before he passed away we received an email confirming acceptance to play the show at Gothenburg Fringe Festival in September. It is a shame that he did not live to witness this. Myself, the dancers and the musicians are fully committed to make it happen, but we cannot do it without your help.
