My son Makhai was diagnosed with ependymoma (a rare tumor of the brain) at just 5 months in November 2015. After 6 operations and 5 months of intense chemotherapy, scan results shown that the tumor tissues had spread to the cerebrospinal fluid and other parts of the brain during the course of treatment. The decision was made to discontinue chemo.
6 months later Makhai is still fit and fighting. He has attained a great quality of life and the progression he has made since having extensive brain surgery is inspirational to say the least. He enjoys many laughs, hugs and playtime with his baby sister, and older brother, who adore him dearly. Since being at home learning to crawl, walk, talk, exploring with food and learning about the new world around him, he continues to progress rapidly. He is a credit to my family and gives me strength to know that with all he has been through he strives to continue on a steady path. He spent his first Christmas in hospital and I am hoping he will have the opportunity to spend the season at home filled with happiness and love.
As a proud mother of 3 and full time carer a lot of extra costs have incurred in ensuring Makhai's wellbeing. All money raised will be put towards travel for medical appointments, care costs, any end of life expenses, and something that will bring the family comfort over the Christmas period.
Please help us by making a donation to our what ever happens fund. I believe in miracles but we can never know what Is in Gods plan, only by God we have the time that we have spent so far, and it has been great! I can only pray that this joy may continue. Thoughts and prayers are equally welcomed.
Thank you for taking the time to read. :)
