We would like to able to purchase a new tug for our canal boat as the existing one was built in 1993 it is now 23 years old and no longer fit for purpose.
We are a registered uk charity, limited by guarantee, and provide Boat trips along Tamesides Heratige network of Historic Canals; for the relief of persons who are physically disabled or mentally challenged by the provision of facilities in the interest of Social welfare and disability support.
Our Chairy currently receives no sponsorship or funding for what we do, and aĺl Boat Trips are operated by Volunteers who are passionate about giving their time freely for a good cause, we also provide boat trips for other Charities, Disabled groups, Veterens, Schools, we also provide short trips along the canal at weekends & school holidays for local families visiting Portland Basin Museum, we operate this by asking a small charge for short trips, just to keep the boat going for another year.
