Story
We are hoping to raise funds to help a retiring couple, who through no fault of their own are now facing financial hardship. Following an act of vandalism on their premises at approx 5am on 28th December 2023, the retiring landlord and landlady of The Talbot Public House in Bradeley have now found themselves with a quote for over £3000 to replace the glass in all of the downstairs windows to the bar and lounge. Despite the business being in the process of being sold by the Brewery, the elderly couple have been told, both by the Brewery and the imminent new owners that they must pay for the replacement glass themselves before they leave. The money they had hoped to receive by repayment of their security bond (surety they had paid on taking over the premises 15 years ago), money which they had hoped to use to help them settle into their retirement home will now be drastically reduced by this bill. After serving the community for over 15 years and helping to raise money for any number of charitable causes including The Bradeley and Chell Heath Defibrillators recently installed locally, they now find themselves starting their retirement under a financial cloud after this act of mindless vandalism! Please help out with whatever you can to help raise as much as possible towards the cost of the replacement glass and repair at the premises.
