This just giving page has been set up to raise money for the Chelsea Rimell Foundation.
As a family and as part of Chelsea and Billy's legacy we are hoping to set up The Chelsea Rimell Foundation; our aim is to raise money to fund a particular facility to help care for patients that are in 'Status'.
By raising this money we are hoping to help intensive care units prioritise a certain area within the unit to ensure a specific care plan can be put into place for patients in 'Status', by doing so this will help the medical care team gain control of seizure activity and prevent permanent damage to the brain or even death.
'Status' is the medical term for patients that are suffering from continuous seizure activity. Any seizure activity can lead to permanent damage to the brain, but patients in 'Status' endure a significant amount of damage which can often result or lead to death.
Our aim is to help train specialised staff and provide a space in the intensive care unit so that patients in 'Status' receive specific care from a specialised team. This will help ensure twitches and movements do not go un noticed and patients are more likely to be treated effectively and quickly.
The Chelsea Rimell Foundation needs to raise £5000.00 to allow us to register as legal charity and continue with our long road to help support other patients and families that find themselves in a similar situation to ours.
Our first fundraising event will be on Sunday the 11th of September where Chelsea and Billy's dad, sister, brother, uncles and friends will be doing the London to Brigton bike ride.
