Story
On Friday 16th September 2016 at four and a half years old, my beautiful niece Nicole was diagnosed with Batten Disease. She is not expected to survive into her teens.
Batten Disease is an extremely rare fatal neurodegenerative condition for which there is currently no cure.
Nicoles condition means that she will lose her mobility, independent skills and will gradually lose her eyesight. Nicole already experiences frequent seizures, however they will become increasingly severe and frequent.
As she loves having her face painted and as a painter myself, I would absolutely love to raise money with the help and skills of my painting community!
The Great British Paint Off is a Facebook group that invites face painters from around the UK to take part in painting challenges and by donating £1 to submit their design, can compete against their fellow painters to win wonderful painty prizes donated by our generous sponsors!
Every penny raised from the group painting challenges will go towards helping this special little girl have some wonderful experiences in her short life. It will also assist with the modifications to her home that are needed to support her as her condition deteriorates.
Thank you for being part of Nicole's Batten Journey!

I am Nicole's aunty Fiona. Nicole loves painting (& to be painted!) and I love to paint, so it seemed to be the best way I could think of to help raise money to support her though her awful illness and ensure she shares lots of special experiences with her lovely family.
