Story

The Phoenix centre located on Mile Cross Road Norwich is in CRISIS. Unless funding can be found within the next few weeks the centre is likely to have to close as it cannot pay its bills.

Since 1985 the Phoenix centre has been supporting the residents of the nationally recognised deprived area of Mile Cross. The centre provides a social supermarket to enable the residents to purchase cheap groceries. It provides free school lunches to children during every school holiday. families queue to receive these lunches and the probability is some children would go hungry if these were not provided.

They hire rooms out to local organisations and provide a two course lunch on a Monday for residents where the cost is a minimum donation of £2.

They run a well attended programme for the under 5 on a Tuesday.

This centre will be greatly missed if it had to close and we are appealing to all to help save this vital community centre.

Perhaps you could spare a few pound or your company could donate to the fund. Perhaps your staff could fundraise for us anything how small would be greatly appreciated.

We only have a matter of weeks to save the Phoenix centre.

We would like to say a big thank you to Mattressman (Norwich) , Snellings of Blofield and The Soul Church in Norwich for firstly recognising the Centres plight and then making a donation. Thank you so much.
