Hi one and all,

An ex colleague and friend Summa Barker has just been hit with some devastating life changing news. (Please read full story below)

Recently Summa become very poorly and after many trips to the hospital Summa received the awlful news that she has Chronic progressive stage 2 MS. Scans show the scarring to the brain is so severe which indicates that she has been undiagnosed since birth. The illness has progressed very quickly and Summa has already lost the use of both her legs her left arm, and has severe memory loss. She also woke Saturday morning and her hearing was drastically impaired. As you can imagine this has been a massive blow for Summa and the family, and her mum is now caring for her full time, as well as family and friends helping when they can. Each day uncovers more bad news for Summa, and will do until the doctors have the disease under control. Summa needs as much support from her Mum and Dad as possible to help her deal with this life changing event.

Everyday I am grateful for the gift of health and wealth, as we all should be 💚

Summa's story is so close to home and with the platform of 'The Salon', 'Swale Wellness' and the 'incredible community' we have here, I know we can all get together and achieve something really special and make a difference.

At 'The Salon' many of us worked with Summa and are self employed also and know how difficult being off sick is, let alone poor health resulting in being un able to work. We love our job, we love making people look and feel amazing, just as much as Summa does.

It's our turn now to help Summer and Jasmine (Summa's young daughter) and make her feel amazing as a small token of thanks for being not only a great hairdresser, colleague but a wonderful person and friend too 💘
