Story

We have Hit a point where we are counting down the weeks until our financial reserve runs out. I am working still to obtain a new loan that will in turn i hope change the Six Six as you know it and allow us to create a stronger more viable business. If we obtain the funding required we will aim to open the official six six kitchen allowing us to open for Lunch and dinner on non gig days plus offer a late night menu for our gig goers. We will introduce more seating and focus on food and drink Sunday through Wednesday 12 - 1am and then Strip out every weekend to ensure The Rock n Roll dungeon you have come to love is still its authentic self. We will of course also take on UK Tours and venue hires on midweek shows should they come through however the current climate has left us with a ZERO risk factor approach. I cant Stress enough as i write this , this is still a goal not a reality.

The Business has suffered from Poor VAT advice and unfavourable decisions from HMRC, PRS debt , Cost increases across the board a slower than anticipated summer and Christmas period and the cost of living crisis has also meant even sold out shows aren't hitting bar targets anymore. And of course we have EDF and British Gas absolutely destroying us one month sending a 8.5k bill for THE MONTH that we are still fighting!!

However we have also seen incredible bands playing to less than 15 people while on UK Tours, Bands that we know fit the DNA of the six six community.. Granted they are midweek shows however this is the nature of a grassroots music venues booking midweek shows to accommodate these artists on their journey. we have seen our ticket conversion rate float at around 12% average for advance sales meaning its near impossible to calculate staff hours, stock etc all meaning these mid weeks shows have constantly run on a loss.

We have asked for and explored temporary rent reductions with no success , There are no grants that we know of currently that will allow us to pay off debt and help reduce the overheads caused by debt. We know with forecasting if we can make it through until January 2025 the business is a lot healthier having paid off the loan that we started with and debt all forecasted clear. We are Currently working with The Music Venue Trust and exploring our options

We Really are at critical and now more than ever we need your help , come to gigs, buy tickets, have that after work pint or mid week catch up with friends start the night here Please don't end here. If you are in a group message me ill happily work on concession deals for you.

No matter what happens next know i will give every part of myself to keep the six six alive , ill fight until the last penny and ill keep on booking bands , building shows and fighting for Guitar music to have a home and a platform to flourish and more than anything i wanted to show my son and daughter who's soon to arrive that dad achieved something against all the odds.

"Do not go gentle into that good night,

Old age should burn and rave at close of day;

Rage, rage against the dying of the light."
