Story
Thrive North-Ox (http://www.thrive-northox.co.uk) raises funds to support local children who are living in tough circumstances, here on our doorstep in the Chipping Norton area. Latest research shows 1 in 4 children in the UK is living in poverty and those living in more rural locations are at most risk due to fewer support services being available to them, so the vicious cycle tends to continue. Poverty can breed low self esteem, low aspirations, and low achievement at school. Thrive wants to change this and aims to provide our local children with basic items that most children would take for granted such as properly fitting shoes, basic toiletries, essential clothing and even a bed. These simple changes can help give these children that bit of confidence which could make all the difference.
Thrive has contact with staff in our local primary and secondary schools and with local Health Visitors. These professionals can request specific support from the Thrive team for those children who come to their attention. Using funds we have raised, we can shop for these children and deliver the items they are in need of, to their school or the Health Visitors, who can pass on the items directly to the children.
Please consider giving to this worthy cause to ensure that we can fulfil requests for help as they come in.
Thank you so much!
