Story

Thank you for taking the time to read my Just Giving page.

We are raising £500 for Together 21 Northern Ireland.

March 21st 2024 is World Down Syndrome Day. The theme for this year is to call on people around the world to End The Stereotypes. Together 21 NI has recorded a cover and video of ‘Unwritten‘ by Natasha Bedingfield to raise the profile of our group and to gain some fundraising for the plans ahead.

Together 21 NI is a newly established group, providing support to parents of children with Down syndrome. The group is currently going through the process of becoming a registered charity.

In less than a year the group has close to 80 families with a focus on the early years 0-5. Whilst the majority of families live in Belfast we have families from towns and cities around Northern Ireland.

The main aim of the group is to increase the level of support and social opportunities for families, share information, learn together all while raising awareness and promoting inclusion.

In time we hope to extend to offer advice sessions with professionals as well as external training events for parents. We will always commit to being a parent and child led group ensuring the services match the needs of the children and parents.
