    Story

On the 28th September 2013 my life changed Permanently, I had an abcess on my Spinal Cord which by the time it had been investigated, it had eaten away, well I only had 5% bone mass between my L3 & L4 vertebrae and only had part of 1 discs left out of the three attached to the Vertebrae..

I had an emergency operation to save my life and to save my legs. After my first 9 hour operation I was corseted and on bed rest... I've had 6 more surgeries since then to put in Titanium rods and screws but they came loose, so was removed. I was initially in hospital for four and a half months. They saved my life for which I am eternally grateful for..

During the Infection the Abcess ate away the coating that protects the Spinal Cord and into the Cauda Equina system of nerves that conduct the impulses from the brain to the Right Leg and Foot. Consequently I cannot feel my right leg and foot.

I have always been a positive person always cracking jokes even in the hospital I had after every surgery a limit of 3 days to walk with help, every time I was cut open 3 days later I walked (not very well!) But I did it, then the bed rest came on again.

The damage to my spinal cord system into my right leg and foot has not improved and deteriorated I have to wear plastic brace to keep the my foot up so I don't drop it, but I don't have the strength in my muscles on the right lower limb to lift the foot up.

This is making my walking impossible not only I drag my foot so badly I use two sticks, and can only walk a very short distance. So I was given a Wheelchair from wheelchair services in Worthing. It's heavy and I cannot use it in my flat. My GP has advised Oc Health that I need to use my chair indoors and outdoors basically all the time,. I need a custom made wheelchair tht fits my body and my disability. I am asking for a sum which I know will help me get my New Chair but I will donate any excess funds to Back-up Trust as Multi Point Donation. Many Thnx 4 reading. This x T
