At Norwich LADS ABC we were sorry to hear of the death of Tony Webster who died peacefully at home on 7th July 2023. Tony will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Boxing at Norwich LADS played a large part of Tony’s formative years, through his national service and after that as a professional boxer.

Norwich Lads Club was founded several generations ago in 1918. And it is here that boxing with a world-class pedigree still goes on.

Norwich LADS has produced many champions across the years and Tony was most outstanding amongst them. Internationally, in Singapore, Tony won Bronze in the South East Asia Games in 1955. Tony was proud that his son Paul later became a Lads Club boxer winning the Eastern Counties Junior ABA championships. Proud too, now that grandson Kristian is a seriously active boxer at Norwich LADS ABC and the third generation of Webster family Lads Club Boys.

In remembrance of Tony, donations will be gratefully received by the Norwich Lads Amateur Boxing Club.
