Story
Dear People of the World,
On the 18th of March a neuroscience competition will take place for high school students that aims to inspire them to learn about the brain and become motivated to pursue careers in neuroscience research.
Talks by neuroscientists and information booths demonstrating brain-related experiments will be arranged to engage the participants, their parents and teachers during the breaks. Students will also have the opportunity to talk with a variety of experts and/or apprentices in the field of neuroscience over drinks and snacks. The competition will involve a live question-and-answer section with neuroscientists as judges, a neuroanatomy section where students must identify parts of the brain and their function, and a short written quiz. We will also arrange activity booths with small neuroscience-related experiments as well as engaging talks by neuroscientists during the intervals. We will provide participants with catering on the day. Prizes will be awarded to the top five winners of the competition, and the first-place winner will be invited to participate in the International Brain Bee World Championship (www.thebrainbee.org) to be held in Washington D.C., United States.
We were hoping, and would be exceptionally grateful, that you might be willing to provide some financial support to make sure all students gain as much experience as possible, and enjoy this event to the maximum!
Thank you very much for your consideration and supporting this science outreach initiative. If you have any questions do not hesitate do get in contact with us - We would be more than happy to have a chat about the event!
Yours faithfully,
The English Brain Bee Organising Committee!!
