Story

Micala and Lee, the founders of Holly's Hope Ltd, have a dream of buying and fitting emergency Bleed Boxes and Critical Injury Kits in every town across the UK. This goal comes from the loss of their beautiful, happy, loving daughter Holly whose life was taken in a knife attack in the small market town of Hexham, Northumberland.

There is no way of knowing whether one of these kits would have saved Holly, but Micala and Lee want to help anyone who might have need in the future. If someone is bleeding heavily their chance of survival is better if the bleeding is stopped quickly.

The kits are installed in public places and can be unlocked by calling 999 and receiving the code to unlock the box, and the emergency services will advise how to use the contents while the ambulance is on its way. This kind of first aid care can help save someone's life in this situation.

The first box has been fitted at Hexham Abbey in early July 2024, and Holly's Hope are pushing on to continue buying and fitting more, as many as possible.

So to help in their aims a group of ladies are walking the challenging Steel Town 20 route through some of the Derwent Valley and with a total elevation gain of around 1780ft including a long pull up from the river at Blackhall Mill to Consett Rugby Club for the finish.

This is a really worthwhile cause, and if even one life is saved from the boxes being available at the time of need I will be proud to have supported this challenging goal. Please sponsor us if you can, as much or as little as you can - it all helps
