    Story

Our good friend, Andrew Knowlman, has Motor Neurone Disease. A 49-year old father of two, and a lover of the great outdoors, he can no longer use his legs and arms. He has lost his voice and eating is difficult.

Five of us are walking 40 miles (64 kilometres) in one day (June 17th) to raise money to pay for a carer to accompany Andrew on days out from his care home. He watches events at school, his son play golf and Watford FC. The money will also be used to enable Andrew's family to enjoy a fantastic holiday.

The Lyke Wake Walk crosses the wild North Yorkshire Moors, an area where Andrew has spent alot of time. It is extremely challenging.

Andrew's wife, Jane, now looks after their children, Valentina (14) and Sebastian (10), alone, as well as helping him every day. Their lives have been turned upside down and they need to do something great.

Thank you very much for your support!

In the Autumn of 2015, our friends donated £10,000 to pay the deposit for our mobility van. I use it three or four times a week. Now, you have given generously, so I can pay for a carer to accompany me. My friends are doing the Lyke Wake Walk on the 17th. Thanks for your support! Andrew

Tim wasn't hobbling too much after the event so it obviously went well. Great cause and apologies for the tardiness in donating. Beth
