    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

On my recent trip to Malawi (the poorest country in the world), I was disheartened at the fact that more then half of the country did not have access to clean drinking water. This is a nessesity for survival and something everyone should have access to.
    51% below the poverty line
11% of rural lack access to water

Malawi is one of Africa's most densely populated and least developed countries. Most people live in rural areas where water is scarce. As a result, many women and children spend hours of their day walking to collect it.

Kids in Malawi face a high risk of malnutrition and water-related disease before they reach the age of five. Access to clean drinking water and improved sanitation can drastically reduce both risks.

I stayed in a village amongst people who had to spend half of the day fetching clean drinking water from villages 5-10miles away. Those who did not have the means to travel resorted to drinking water many of us would not even dare touch. Droughts in the region have only worsened the situation and as a result death from dehydration / diseases is rising.
I personally invested a sum which enabled 1500 people access to clean drinking water. On seeing how little contribution is required to make a huge change to the lives of many, encouraged me to set up this page and 100% of all collections would be passed on to their rightful recepients.

The cost of a single well is $2500.
A pump costs an additional $500
    Yearly upkeep cost of $100

For every $2500 raised I will personally pledge the pump cost and also the yearly upkeep for that specific borehole/well. I will also pay all related expenses out of my pocket.

By giving people access to clean drinking water, the opportunity cost saved can be utilised in education and other areas which can only make their life worth living.
