Story

Josh Alexander was a much loved son, brother, partner and friend to so many people. His death has left many people heartbroken but his mum Becky is determined to keep his memory alive by fundraising for a cause close to his heart. Josh was a qualified personal trainer, amazing footballer and loved by those who attended his Active Hastings weight management and fitness classes. He inspired participants to get moving and eat better - even his mum Becky was asked why she was running a half marathon when she could run a marathon!

So Becky has taken up the challenge and will be running the Brighton marathon in 2024, supported by her running group Heart & Sole Runners. Training for a marathon takes a lot of time in the coldest months of the year and is no mean feat.

All money raised will go towards sustaining the Active Hastings Weight Management project with our goal to raise at least £2,000 which will fund a full 12 week men’s course. The FREE 12-week weight loss course is aimed at the residents of Hastings and St. Leonards with a BMI of over 30. Josh played a vital role in running this project and was passionate about keeping Hastings healthy.
