Story

My name is Will Wright and I have a disability called Cerebral Palsy (CP) and I am fundraising for a lightweight, self-propelled wheelchair for myself. This is because this will not be provided to me by the NHS. Everyone with CP is different; in my case, walking is a challenge as it can sometimes be painful and it is difficult to maintain my balance, because of this, the wheelchair would make the world a difference to my life. It would aid me in becoming more independent, without the worry of getting stuck and would also help me to adapt to a healthier lifestyle.

This chair would allow me to go into the working world with so much more confidence, as everyday tasks could become more accessible to me. I’d be able to spend time with my friends and family doing things I might’ve once avoided.

For the month of July, I have decided that each day I will walk 1K a day. This will be with the aid of my walker, to show just how grateful I am for any support and donations given. I will be sharing my daily walks on my Facebook page, so you can follow along on my journey!

I am beyond grateful to be heard and supported by Canterbury College and to those who kindly contribute. You really will be changing my life. Thank you so much!
