Winchester City Football Club are one of the oldest non-league clubs in the country, founded in 1884.
Winchester City FC currently play their football in the Evostik Southern League South West Division which is at level four of the league pyramid. This means we are four levels form football league status.
Running a non league football club is very difficult and costly. The club like many others relies heavily on volunteers like myself, local sponsorship, some donations and one or two much more generous donations. However the club still struggles balance the books month in month, but we do just about.
One of the areas we rely on is through selling food and drinks on match days. This is done mainly via the club bar and through our cafe called The Dugout. From The Dugout we sell hot drinks, burgers, chips etc. This is a valuable source of revenue.
Unfortunately we have had to close The Dugout due to serious damage with the flat roof causing part of the ceiling to collapse. We need to carry out urgent repairs to The Dugout so as we can reopen as soon as possible. The cost to carry these repairs is £2200.
It is very important to the club that we open The Dugout as soon as possible. Not only for much needed revenue for the club but also to provide a good service to visiting supporters on matchdays.
