I was diagnosed with womb cancer over five years ago now. Fortunately, my cancer was caught early but I didn't realise that this is one of the most common cancers which is rarely discussed in public.

There is a small team of people setting up a new Charity - Action on Womb Cancer - and I would like to invite you to raise a virtual Glass of Wine and donate the cost instead to help fund this team. (They have currently raised over £5,000 and are in the process of registering the Charity and getting the HMRC Charity registration number.)

It is bad enough when, like me, you are post-menopausal when you're diagnosed. The thing which I have found so shocking is that many much younger women are being diagnosed with womb cancer - and that affects their fertility and their prospects for having their own family.

Please help me to help raise awareness of this disease, to support women through the rigors of treatment - operations, possible chemo and radiotherapy - and, once the Charity gets off the ground, make contributions to medical research to take forward the knowledge and the treatment options for women of all ages.

I'm not sure what you pay for a glass of wine in your area, we would suggest a modest donation of £5 to help us help women of all ages to fight this dreadful disease. However, all donations are most welcome and we hope you feel free to give what you can afford.
