Story
On Wednesday 21st June a number of our rowers will be taking part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, climbing over 5,200ft to raise money to restore one of our boats.
As many of you may know, rowing isn't a cheap sport. It costs a vast amount of money to keep our boats and equipment in order. the money we are generously given by the university does not cover all the costs so we need to do some fundraising ourselves.
The funds raised from this challenge will be going towards the restoration the William Harper, a key boat in our novice training program.
Our Novice squads this year have been incredibly strong. We have been able to teach 50+ men and women how to row and have ended the year with with 3 men's and 3 women's crews. We want to continue this level of training for our intake of novices next year and in the future, but in order to do this we need suitable boats.
Currently our main training boat, the William Harper, is close to unrowable. After many years of use, its shoes have fallen apart. We currently have many rowers trying to secure their feet with a vaeity of methods (i.e. duct tape). This make it uncomfortable to row and is also unsafe.
Your donations will be spent on new shoes so this boat ready for the start of the year in October.
We would be grateful for any contribution. Any money raised will ensure our novices get the best start in a sport we love and allows them to enjoy it as we do1

You also need to change ever heel restraint in all other boats. Dyneema 3mm or 4mm should be ok. However it must have at least a 400kg breaking weight. This stuff isn't cheap.
