Our 6 year old son Yahya was recently treated at the Royal Manchester bone marrow transplant unit. He suffers from a rare blood disorder called diamond blackfan anemia where the body fails to produce red blood cells. Yahya had a life saving bone marrow transplant and his donor was his 11 year old brother Abdullah.
The transplant is working and Yahya is now home and now we would like to do something special for the amazing nurses and the transplant unit. The team are amazing from the doctors to nurses, the play workers, domestic helpers...the list goes on.
We are looking at raising money to support the hard work they do but more importantly the money will help other children having their own treatment. So much is provided to families whilst they stay at the unit, from toys and games to decorations for the patients room and many more things just to make the child's stay comfortable.
