Story
100 Years of IPSWICH YM RUFC
In 1925 in a small room, in what, with great affection, is was called " The Old Y.M. " in Tavern Street, provided an occasion for a lively discussion on the respective merits and comparative demerits of the two football codes. A point made by soccer enthusiasts was that, a youngster from schools other than Public or Secondary, had but little chance to learn, no matter how much he desired so to do, the Rugger Game... so why argue ? Then, ARTHUR DAVIES, "Why not the Y.M. open this supposedly closed door?' That's where and how it started. From which time it has never looked back.
At a 100 years young the 'YM' still goes on playing that lovely game of Rugby
Help us make our Centenary year a year to remember - We would like to make Facility, Kit and Pitch improvements and even try to get the Youth to Twickenham! Thank you
We are YM!
