Encountering homeless folk on the streets of York is sadly all too common.

You want to help, but you feel uncomfortable giving them cash.

What if you could give them a voucher, which they could take to a local cafe, and exchange for a sandwich and a hot drink ?

That's exactly what we have set up. We hand out vouchers to street folk in our city, and "The Lunchbox" on the Shambles redeem them.

We also provide connection to other homeless charities and services, so it can be more than just food they receive.

We are inspired by the way Jesus reached out to those in need, but people of all faiths and persuasions are very, very welcome to support this initiative.

The scheme is up and running, and we currently need approx £50 per week to pay for the food. The £2,400 we are looking for will keep the scheme operational for approx 12 months.
