Story

YPWD-MK believe everyone affected by Young Onset Dementia, and their families and friends, should have access to hope, support and an opportunity to share skills and fun. They host social gatherings once a month to create a network of people living with Young Onset Dementia, so everyone knows someone to contact.

Adding your donation will enable YPWD-MK to continue hosting these events, whether by getting a group discount at crazy golf, standing a cup of tea at Dobbies, or booking a venue; and to continue supporting a phone line and website so new families can find us and link up.

We are holding a sponsored walk around Willen lake on Saturday 7th September at 11.00 and we hope you can sponsor us and/or come and join us.... thank you so much :)

Dementia is considered ‘young onset’ where symptoms develop under the age of 65. There are many different types and the impact on life is different than for older people. There are estimated to be 70,800 people living with young onset dementia in the UK; that’s only 0.092% of the population - or 9 in every 10,000 people; and for this reason, local support services are rare and peer support extra special.

YPWD-MK has been sharing hope and fun since 2016 …. and just a small amount now will help them continue !!
