Story
Since founded in 2006 Granaghan Outreach have been travelling annually to deprived areas such as Argentina, Zambia and predominately Kenya to carry out construction projects and bring aid. As a charity our objectives are to reduce social deprivation and poverty, provide better living conditions in orphanages, hospitals and healthcare clinics and to improve education facilities for children.
This year Granaghan Outreach will be travelling to a remote area of Zambia to assist in building a new school for approximately 140 children. These children are walking up to 15 miles per day to access their school, which is currently no more than a tin shack. The government has provided the required land and teachers but the locals now need the support to develop this land into a safe learning environment. This is the largest project the charity has ever undertaken and has the potential to be carried out over the next 5-7 years. With your help, we hope to be able to provide these children with classrooms equipped with desks, a toilet block, staffroom, play area and most importantly, access to clean water.
None of our work would be possible without the continued support and donations from local communities and beyond. On behalf of all those at Granaghan Outreach we would like to thank you for reading our story and contributing to this fantastic cause!
