    Story

A couple of years ago a group of friends formed a plan to have a small party. A tent and a couple of speakers. Others joined in and we set about the task of clearing some neglected land.
A band wanted to play -oh dear we needed a stage.
“I’ll build you one as I have access to some scaffolding”
Oh and the acoustic musicians, we built them one too.
You need a fire pit. “Make you one” said Magic. It was a beauty.
Everyone mucked in! Yarn bombing, grass cut, brambles trimmed to let the willow breathe, the deer were watching but never left us.
And so with the help of an ever increasing collective we managed to all take part in a magical event, that became so much more than we ever thought was possible and left the land in a clean healthy state.
We didn’t make any money. Everybody donated for toilets and afterwards to help our losses.
Friendships were made; ideas were made real; people brought passions to the event to share with everyone and all who came had some part in making it what it was and were equally valued whether they cleaned the toilets or headlined on the main stage. It was a truly inspirational example of what we can do when we are driven by our passion for what we love rather than by the desire for money.
This land has come up for sale and we are going to buy it. Already we have gathered a large sum by £100 donations from members of our community but it is not going to be enough Interest is great.
We will use the land for community activity and will celebrate and enjoy the land once a year having other Bits of Dos. We have no set beliefs just a mission to do what’s right for the land and our community and to let it be enjoyed by all.
We are here crowdsourcing the remainder of the funds which we have identified as enough. We really need your help. What price is land? No small sum to a sole wealthy person or numerous small amounts from a large community. Collectively we are more than the sum of our parts! Together we have the ability!

I'm Jules a 52yr old party animal, snared 21yrs ago by my gorgeous partner Kerris. We have 4 wonderful children aged 7 to 17. How could I want more? I recycle wood, make furniture, mend cars and houses. I try and do things the "right way" if able. I'm not always right!
