I am climbing Kilamanjaro in September during my 50th birthday week to raise much needed money for the Not in Warrington fund. My aim is to raise £1 for each metre climbed – that’s £5895.
This fund has been set up and is being Managed by Oakwood Avenue Community Primary School and friends. My son attended Oakwood Avenue and so I have seen first-hand what difference and impact can be made by the dedication, love and shear hard work of the school community.
In recent years schools in deprived areas of our town have tried discretely to help families facing hardship at Christmas time. Staff, friends and local businesses have helped to buy Christmas gifts for children who would otherwise receive nothing, and to help with providing food and warm clothing. It became evident that the need was immense and a coordinated approach was needed. In 2016 the Not in Warrington fund was set up for the benefit of local schools, by the Headteacher at Oakwood Avenue Community Primary School, with support from friends and the local community. A total of 157 families across 20 Warrington schools received support during the 2016 Christmas period.
The Not in Warrington fund wants to make a bigger difference in 2017. Please help make this happened by sponsoring my venture!

The fund is hosted by Oakwood Avenue Community Primary School. Funds are managed via the School Fund account which is monitored by the Governing Board and is externally audited.
