Jessica is a very special little girl who doesn't let any of her disabilities or illness get her down, she always has a huge smile on her face despite everything life throws at her and I know she is loved by so many people.

I've seen first hand just how much she loves to ride a bike but sadly the trike she has is so difficult for her to use as she cannot use the pedals and just rocks her feet up and down enough to get a little momentum to move along which is great but it's extremely hard work and tiring for her, there's bikes out there designed especially for children like Jessica who have complex needs and they encourage her to use a full circle motion to pedal and this is what she needs however the starting price for one of these bikes is £1000 which is ridiculous.

This bike would be a complete life changer for Jess as due to her bronchiectasis she needs daily physiotherapy to help her lungs to clear but Jessica will not tolerate the traditional 'pats' and the only way to help her is to use her nebuliser and then get her active in the hope she produces coughs to clear the secretions from her lungs.
The difference to her life having one of these specialist bikes would be immense and I know it would bring not only health benefits but a lot of joy to a very special little girl.
As well as her physical needs for the bike Jessica also has communication needs too. Jessica has been non verbal throughout her 11 years of life but recently, with the use of a specialist communication app Jessica has started to say words. She is a bright little girl that never misses a trick, but I know that with personal access to the app (around £1000 for the app plus the ipad) her speech would massively improve as it has been proven in the past.
