    Story

My campaign sets out to raise awareness of the true impact of Mental Health Disability, to highlight the traumatic effects on normal day-to-day working people, and to talk about the real-life impact of disability discrimination.

I propose to raise £100,000 to support, fund and endorse individual Mental Health Disability projects in the East Anglia region via MIND, Heads Together and the NHS Critical Care / Recovery Teams.

It will also assist unique individual projects in the sphere of art, music, sports and conservation to support recovery..

In memory of my late Father Russell Hammond (Royal Anglian, Suffolk, 3rd Bat) I also intend to support the soldiers of the Royal Anglian Regiment(Norfolk/Suffolk/Cambs) affected by the mental health trauma of conflict and personal loss.

I suffer personally from long-term Complex PTSD and I am impassioned campaigner for Mental Health Disability Projects. My personal traumatic experiences leading to my illness resulted in total loss of all I previously knew; a successful career as an author and entrepreneur, my home, partner and so much more.

These last four years I have been supporting the national campaign to raise awareness of Mental Health Illness by writing a regular detailed newsletter, also running a daily diarised account via Facebook. Now with the positive support of many I have been encouraged to write my autobiography detailing life as it really is, living with severe mental health illness; how it has affected me, changed my life, and now shapes my future.

The book, when published will donate 40% of its profit to support this campaign and seeks to raise half of the set target (£50,000) from sales.
