Story

Hello,

I am in my third year of Optometry and I am currently raising money to fund my trip to South Africa this summer where I will be volunteering for two weeks on the Phelophepa Health Train, also known as the Train of Hope.

On the train I will working in the eye clinic section, carrying out an average of 15 eye examinations per day on people in rural communities, to help improve their sight and their standard of living. As well as this, I will be providing these people with glasses and any medical eyecare advice they need. I will be assisted for these two weeks by a fully qualified optometrist. Any more information about the Train of Hope can be found here: http://www.trainofhope.org

The estimated cost of the project is around £1000 per student so any donations would be greatly appreciated. I am really looking forward to being a part of this amazing project, and having the opportunity to impact on people's lives by helping improve their eyesight.

Thank you, Aleena xx
