I've raised £1000 to Help fund specific therapy and treatment to drastically improve and shorten recovery from the accident which happened earlier this month

My name is Aaron Kingswood, and on the 4th of October I nearly lost my legs, and my life.
I was travelling home on the wet windy back roads of Cumbria, and before I had a chance to think, my front wheel had slipped and I was sliding on my back down the hill. A van came round the corner and drove straight over the top of me, leaving me chewed up in the middle of the road not being able to feel my legs.
Luckily, a passer by who was a trained first aider was on the scene within seconds, promptly followed by the amazing paramedic team who stabilised me in the ambulance and got me safely to Carlisle Cumberland Infirmary Hospital.
I am lucky to be alive, according to the doctors, and so far the operations I’ve needed to save my legs have been successful. I’ve spent two and a half weeks in hospital..... and counting. The predicted recovery time is 12 months and I’ll be spending all the time leading up to Christmas in a wheel chair, patiently waiting to be able to learn how to walk again.
The after care and recovery treatment available through the NHS is limited. We are trying to raise money to pay for several types of therapy and treatment. There are two different types of physiotherapy needed, Orthopedic physiotherapy and a Rehabilitation programme which would include sessions in a Hydro-pool. Some specialist equipment will need to be put in my home, and finally sessions in a Hyperbaric Chamber. All have proven to drastically improve recovery time AND the recovery itself.
If you wish to know why this treatment is so desperatley needed and want to know more about the accident itself, please contact me directly at aaronkingswood@gmail.com
I would love to share my story with you and answer any questions.
Thanks!!
