Two of my friends/colleagues have visited and lived in Togo. So much time is spent by individuals collecting water from streams and rivers; frequently being carried back in filthy containers by children and teenagers, walking barefoot along dusty tracks. Valuable time and effort spent boiling water by the adults; using up their valuable fuel, to try and ensure the water collected is made clean enough to drink without making them or their family members ill. School time lost for many children and young people because they become ill through drinking dirty water. And if they cant help their families get a good education then the cycle of poverty and ill-health continues.Raising money for water pumps
