Story
Hi! My name is Abbey Hayden and in July 2019 I'm going to Cambodia on World Challenge. World Challenge is an organisation that provides school expeditions and amazing experiences to students across the world.
I will go on a 2 week educational expedition to Cambodia, which will involve trekking through the jungle and working on a community project. The community project will involve working alongside the local people in an educational scheme at the primary school in the area. As a team, we hope to make a difference to the children’s lives by improving the school facilities to enable them to get a better education. The education they receive will change their lives for the better and have a positive impact that will last for the rest of their lives.
We have the task of raising £2,990 each through fundraising to cover all our costs for the expedition. In order to raise the funds I have done babysitting, bake sales, craft events and have worked for a local business every Saturday. As my large major fundraising project I will being participating in a 10k run on Monday 22nd April.
Originally I was considering doing a sponsored 5k run. However, I now believe that 10km is more challenging and will be more deserving of any sponsorships I receive. I have been and will continue to train regularly, I run a couple of times during the week and my dad and I go for a run on the weekend. I've never done a 10k before but the World Challenge experience encourages pushing yourself and I am keen to achieve my goal!
I hope that you are willing and able to sponsor me! Any donation you're prepared to make would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
