Newton Solney Pre-School first opened in 1972 and is a voluntary group affiliated to the Pre-School Learning Alliance. It is a registered charity and are managed by a committee and financed by fees and many fund raising activities. However, the unit has recently been told that temporary planning permission can no longer be granted and the building must be made permanent. We have been given just 3 years to fundraise and build a new contemporary pre-school building. Therefore, it is the school, pre-school and communities mission to raise £140,000 in just 3 years to help support the rebuild and leave a long lasting legacy for future generations.

On Saturday 5th August starting at 8am we are challenging ourselves to a 10-hour non stop relay around a small loop within the village. My dad (Tim) and I are the challengers taking it in turn to run half hour legs of the route repeatedly, finishing hopefully in one piece at 6pm. The route is small so boredom is going to test us along with painful limbs and blisters. On the day donations can be made for cake and coffee for any supporters.

The starting point of each lap is Holly Cottage, 2 Trent Lane, Newton Solney opposite the infant school. This is also where you can get your drinks and cakes to enjoy while we are suffering!
