Hi! I am Abbie, and my mum Sandra.

I am at York St John University, studying Physical Education and Youth Sport. I aspire to be a teacher some day and this is a part of education I want to investigate. I plan to us the information that I gather from this experience to develop my own understanding of Physical Education around the world and make a difference where I can.

My mum, Sandra, works in a multi-cultural school in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. Sandra is a classroom support worker, supporting children with different Educational Needs. Enabling these children to learn and progress in a main stream primary school she wants to help the South African children to a better education as well

Both my mum and myself want to help the children have the same educational experience we are used to and use the skills we use in the UK.
This was made more influential after reading about the depravity in South Africa, on social media.

We are going to support a charity called United Through Sport. This charity is dedicated to helping community based development within under privileged areas.

In the deprived areas of South Africa, they do not have the luxury of being taught subjects that our children, in the UK, sometimes take for granted.
Subjects such as Maths, English and Physical Education.

Our mission is to raise funds to enable us to go to South Africa and help these children enjoy a childhood they deserve. To support them, teach them new skills and have some fun.

After all that is what being a child is about, playing and learning , having fun in safety and smiling with friends

An education that could help change the lives of these innocent children and make for a better future.

It has to start somewhere.

We plan on doing things such as cake sales, table top sales, hold discos, raffles and tombola, sponsored walks and car washing.
We are looking at attending events around our area and have a mascot to help us do this.
