Story

We are a group of Lewisham residents and workers: Abbie, a PT and new (ish) Mum to Ralph, Hannah who is part of the team at Lewisham Local, Helen C, a local TV producer, Andrew, Patch and James all keen runners and raring to go!
We all feel passionately about supporting our local community and particularly the younger residents in Lewisham. We also wanted a challenge, something to get us moving and this 10KM race in Crystal Palace park was the perfect location for us.
The charities we have chosen to support are Mamma Kind, who support mothers and their children, 0 to 7 years by providing everything one might need for your baby, including clothing, furniture, equipment (prams, car seats, highchairs etc) all the way up to aged seven.
And Bank of Things, who offer support to young people aged 11 to 25 facing hardship, through the provision of school/educational supplies and toiletries, so that every young person living, studying or working in the borough can participate fully in their lives.
During the current cost of living crisis and the last few years of difficulties we have faced as a community and a nation, families are feeling the strain and some of our most vulnerable young people are facing a bleak Winter. We want to offer support to these charities so that they can ensure no young person in Lewisham goes without in 2024.
